Why do all homes in Australia ?

Question by Art_luvr2: Why do all homes in Australia ?
Why do all homes in Australia have cages or fences on all the windows ? I’m watching HGTV House Hunters International and the really nice homes even new homes all have horrible looking fences on the windows . Ruins the look of a nice home !

Best answer:

Answer by Shannon
not all homes have that cage thing on the windows. some people just prefer to have them there because it would be like an extra layer of protection when someone tries to rob your home. i live right next door to someone with them, but i don’t have them.

Q&A: Can windows 200 be successfuly put into a home network with windows xp home edition?

Question by Robster01: Can windows 200 be successfuly put into a home network with windows xp home edition?
Can windows 200 be successfuly put into a home network with windows xp home edition? If so, are there any need to know tricks, or tips? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by wombat
sure it can, and there is not really any tricks. It may depend on if you have a domain at home or workgroup. Probably workgroup, make sure you know the password for the 2000 machine if you want any of the xp’s to have access to the shared files on the 2000

2000 was the worst windows edition IMO, a lot more check boxes to learn…

Q&A: Do you have any good ideas for a basic sustainable home?

Question by UCF Knights: Do you have any good ideas for a basic sustainable home?
By that I mean a basic setup idea for a eco-friendly home. I plan on remodeling my house and I want some good ideas to create a sustainable home.

Best answer:

Answer by t_jet_72
Eco friendly and sustainable are two different things. Look into passive heat, use water saving fixtures including your taps, toilets and shower heads, energy saving light bulbs, new appliances that are energy star rated, clothes line instead of dryer, insulate and use thermal windows if needed in your area. Be careful of over insulating a house though…too much will cause problems if you do not have the proper air exchange system. Solar and/or wind turbine with geothermal is fine but very expensive and you might not get your money back out of it depending on your location.

Who owns a home and wishes they never did?

Question by chicken2008: Who owns a home and wishes they never did?
To me home ownership is over rated.
My opinion. You can have bad neighbors in any situation. Owning home is a big responsibility. I have known people that said that.

Best answer:

Answer by rtfm
I’ve known many different people in many different financial situations over the course of my lifetime, and I don’t think I have *EVER* known anyone who owned a home and wished they didn’t.

What’s overrated about being free from wondering every year whether your rent will go up, or whether you’ll get bad neighbors sharing a wall with you, or whether the landlord will sell your home? What’s overrated about being able to paint the walls, or knock them down, or plant a garden?

Renting current home and getting a loan to buy a new home?

Question by bajafresh4life: Renting current home and getting a loan to buy a new home?
We want to buy a new home, but we’re having trouble selling our current one. If I have an agent that’s willing to guarantee the lease of my current home for 2-3 years, would a lender be willing to count that as income towards a loan for a new home?

Best answer:

Answer by anthonyfkelly
They will be able to but they will include a vacancy factor to it. They will only give you 75% of the rent. This is normal and what they do in California.

Just to let you know, renting your home out vs selling way below the true value is a smart decision. With the ecomony being as soft as it is, interest rates are super low and you should be able to find a really good loan for your new home.
